In our eighth year, The Center is a program and ministry for Christian education and spiritual development at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Portland, Oregon. While our identity is rooted in the Christian tradition, we invite all serious seekers and lovers of God to participate in our programs. The Center's mission is for those "beyond the gates" of Trinity parish even as we nurture and are nurtured by our own Trinity community. - The Rev. Canon Marianne Wells Borg, Director

The Center invites you to engage in the ongoing and dynamic interplay of scripture, tradition, reason and experience, as we understand it in our own Christian tradition and in the other great wisdom traditions of the world. In sharing insights and experience, we hope to gain greater understanding of what it means to live a compassionate life.

The starting place of our learning and questions is acknowledgment of the Sacred. Join us as we ask questions, engage in dialogue, strive for justice, pray and serve, live with gratitude and a sense of wonder. In short, join us as we seek to live a fully human life.

The mission of The Center is to offer ways to deepen relationships with God, to explore issues of faith and practice rooted in the Christian tradition and in the world’s great faith traditions, to encourage journeys of transformation that increase compassionate commitment to others, and to open and inform our daily lives through the workings of the Spirit.
